Training Packages under development or review

In TAA40104 Certificate IV Training and Assessment you will learn that Training Packages are subject to continuous improvement; you could find that the Training Package you want to use is going through a review or, less commonly now, that it is still under development. For example: The TAA04 Training and Assessment Package that includes the TAA40104 Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualification has recently been reviewed and will be replaced by TED10 in early 2010 which includes a new Certificate IV Training and Assessment – TED40110.

Under the continuous improvement model, Training Packages are generally reviewed and resubmitted for endorsement every three years, but this time-frame could be longer depending on the Training Package. The Training Package is still endorsed and usable while it is being reviewed and the process usually starts 18 months after initial endorsement.

A Training Package is referred to as ‘under development’ after DEST has entered into a contract for its development. The Training Package is ready for use after it has been endorsed by the National Training Quality Council (NTQC), agreed by Ministers to be placed on the NTIS and usually a month after it is published on the NTIS by Australian Training Products (ATP)[url]
